ADD/ADHD and Autism in WAGR Syndrome

Yao-Shan Fan, MD, PhD, Director of the Cytogenetics Laboratory at University of Miami School of Medicine, is beginning his study of WAGR syndrome.

The aspect of the syndrome targeted by his research is the high incidence of ADD/ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders in children with the syndrome.  Dr. Fan believes that we may find a genetic answer to why our children have these conditions, in addition to the other features of the syndrome, and that this discovery could help not only our children, but children everywhere who suffer from these disorders.

Particiapants will be contacted individually with the results.
